Our Story

Elayne Chow, Founder

After many years of management consulting, Elayne left the corporate world to live her dream of spreading the love for leading a fun-filled adventurous life with like-minded women.

Elayne was tired of the constant focus on promoting physical activity to lose weight and improve appearance.  So she started Graceful Edge to inspire women to get out there, all in the spirit of having fun.

Originally from Canada, Elayne is partial to all things cool.  Winter running, skiing, toques for every occasion and ice cream.

Carolyn "Carrie" Rumbarger, Co-Founder

Carrie recently left her position as VP of Sales and Marketing of a Fortune 100 company.  Realizing that all work and no play is a sad but all too common phenomenon, Carrie is teaming up with Elayne to encourage women to take the time to experience the fun  and satisfaction of an active lifestyle.

An adventure in Alaska quickly followed by a hiking trip in Utah, Carrie's love for the outdoors is back in high gear.

Lynn Yu, Resident Backcountry Gourmet

Lynn Yu is Graceful Edge’s backcountry gourmet. She loves to eat….well.  So much so, that she went and got her Ph.D. in nutrition. Her favorite places to nosh include the Grand Tetons, Algonquin Park in Northern Ontario, and remote parts of Vancouver Island.  Never a shortage of people to go camping with Lynn!

The voice and vision of Graceful Edge was inspired by Elayne’s mom….Grace, who worked full-time, managed a household, and raised two crazy daughters, all while keeping her dignity and sense of humor.

And for that, we are ever so grateful.
