Move to Higher Ground
Skiing off a cliff. Bungee jumping. Sky diving. It looks like you prefer your thrills quick and high.
Looking for a buzz of a more everlasting nature?
Take it to the next level and apply to become a member of the Breast Cancer Fund’s Climb Against the Odds – Mt. Shasta 2007 team. Join a team of 40 climbers, an amazing combination of survivors and supporters from all walks of life, as they attempt to summit Mt. Shasta in July 2007.
Climb Against the Odds is one of BCF's signature events to raise funding and increase awareness of breast cancer prevention. These inspiring mountain expeditions were first conceived in 1995 when 17 breast cancer survivors climbed Mt. Aconcagua, the highest peak outside the Himalayas. Since then, the Breast Cancer Fund has led six subsequent expeditions to Mt. Shasta, Mt. McKinley, Mt Fuji, and Mt. Rainier.
At 14,000+ feet, Mt. Shasta is high. It’s the second highest volcano in the United States and one of the highest mountains in California.
As part of the application process, you commit to pre-climb training, attending a basic mountaineering course and raising at least $5,000.
In return, you get training advice to help you prepare, fundraising advice, expert mountaineering guides, logistical support, accommodations, and food.
But most importantly, you get real life inspiration from climbing side by side with survivors AND the immense satisfaction by making a huge difference in the fight for breast cancer prevention
Likely sending you to a new high for a very long time.
